Hemp Haven Mini Strip Mall Opening!
By Steve McDonnell - photos by Jo Anne Lauder

Robin and Travis Treso, owners of Hemp Haven, celebrated the opening of several new stores in their mini strip mall on 15th Ave and Montreal street on August 11, 2011.

Hemp Haven, Frank's Barber Shop, Precious Earth, One on One Guitars and Daisy's Pantry hosted a fun filled evening featuring yummy food, musical performances by The Relative and Tribal Vibes, Hula Hoopers, Dino Bouncer, Fada Dance face painting and Ice Cream sale, and more... BuzzCity was there and took some photos.

There is a lot of talk and planning these days about the revitalization of Regina, with the focus mainly on large scale projects such as Mayor Fiacco's 'Regina Revitalization Project', which includes transforming the current Mosaic Stadium site into a mixture of housing, commercial and retail opportunities, and development of the CP land to include a new multi-purpose entertainment centre, as well as commercial and retail space. BuzzCity believes that smaller scale initiatives such as the Hemp Haven mini-mall redevelopment are an important, vital and more grassroots approach to the revitalization of older, inner city neighbourhoods ... we need more of this in Regina!
