The Mid-Winter Ceilidh
February 4th, 2012

The Mid-Winter Ceilidh is a full night of great entertainment, including a performance by the host band, The City of Regina Pipe Band, dancing, a fun instructional session on Irish Ceili dancing, and of course the feature sets from the feature bands. Last year's Ceilidh SOLD OUT and a number of VERY disappointed people, were turned away, so be sure to get your tickets early! They are available now on the web site, or in early January in the ticket locations.

This year's Ceilidh [Saturday, 8pm] is going to feature three fantastic local bands: The Scott Benson Band, Downbeat and Celtica! The Ceilidh will have all the great Celtic entertainment it always has, and we'll close out this year's event with a rock n' reel set from Regina's favourite Celtic rockers!

Making Love in a Canoe

LIMELIGHT – An Exquisite Collaboration of Live Music and Dance
Sunday, February 12th at 7:30 pm
Conexus Arts Centre

Two wonderfully talented and successful Saskatchewan based organizations are coming together for an unforgettable performance in Regina entitled, “Limelight”. For one night only the show will feature elite, pre-professional artists from the Youth Ballet Company of Saskatchewan and the South Saskatchewan Youth Orchestra. The show will take centre stage at the Conexus Arts Centre on Sunday, February 12th at 7:30 pm.

“Limelight,” a celebration of live music and dance will showcase exciting and dramatic works such as “Ballet for Life” a powerful piece about being alive set to the classic music of Queen; Aaron Copland’s “Rodeo” a fun and lively work; “A Secret Society,” which is sure to move and inspire, created to the wonderful music of Avro Part.

Richard Zimich, Artistic Director of Youth Ballet Company of Saskatchewan, explains that, “the program has been designed to be at times full-on energy, balanced with beautiful and moving pieces as well as uplifting and joyful excerpts. It is incredibly special to be bringing these two organizations together for such a monumental performance in honour of the 10th Anniversary of our performing Company.”
